17 June 1967 – Airshow
Approximately 10,000 visitors, mostly family members of the soldiers stationed at Soesterberg Air Base, attended an open day on Saturday 17 June 1967.
Because it was a relatively small-scale event, the static show wasn’t very impressive. In addition to a few Dutch aircraft, the 32nd had set up a Delta Dagger, displayed with all its (possible) weaponry around it. The German Air Force presented a G-91 Fiat on the static line, while the RAF brought a Canberra and a Lightning. During the air show itself, several F-102s from the 32nd TFS flew, and there was a Thunderstreak attack demonstration. Fokker also presented its newest addition: the F-28 Fellowship. Unfortunately, the Norwegian Air Force’s announced F-5 did not appear, which was disappointing, as the audience had hoped to see the latest addition to the Dutch Air Force (the Netherlands ordered 105 F-5s) in action.
