28 May 1964 – Fokker S-14
On the afternoon of Thursday 28 May 1964, a Fokker S-14 from the Royal Netherlands Air Force (serial L-7) left Soesterberg AB for a flight over Voorne Putten. It crashed in the Olifantspolder dike between the towns of Heenvliet and Geervliet. Eyewitnesses afterwards declared that they saw smoke coming from the aircraft while it glided downwards. The plane exploded killing both crew members. It was the first crash of a Fokker S-14.
