11 October 1978 – Bo-105C

On the morning of Wednesday 11 October 1978 a Bo-105C helicopter from the Royal Netherlands Air Force crashed on the platform of Soesterberg Air Base.
The BO-105C had just taken off and was hovering when the pilot lost control. The Bolkow crashed and caught fire. The pilot and navigator could both be saved by the groundcrew. Two other groundcrew members -who were working on a F-27 Friendship- were hit by debris and were taken to a hospital.
The Bo-105 was written off.
