25 August 1964 – Harvard T-6

This Tuesday, a Harvard T-6 from the Royal Netherlands Air Force with serial B-183 crashed in the Veluwemeer, not far from the city of Harderwijk. The Harvard was heading for Leeuwarden Air Base, when the aircraft got in trouble over the Veluwemeer. The aircraft crashed with low speed in the water and both crew members could leave the Harvard unharmed. They were both picked up by the captain of a sailing boat who saw the accident happen. After reaching the shore, both crewmembers hitchhiked to the police station in Harderwijk. The Harvard was written-off.
