18 July 1953 – Airshow
On Saturday 18 July 1953 a a large scale airshow was organized to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
Approximately 250.000 people visited the airbase this day to witness this real spectacle.
The highlight of the show was perhaps the mass fly pass of 275 aircraft consisted of Meteors, F-84Gs, Sabres, RCAF Sabres and RAF Venoms from 2nd ATAF.
