17 March 1954 – Meteor

On 17 March 1954 around 3 in the afternoon a Gloster Meteor T.Mk.7 with serial I-301 crashed in the IJsselmeer near the city of Harderwijk on its way back to Soesterberg after a range practice.

The dual Meteor was a former RAF aircraft (WH-207). Both crew members, Sgt. Nieuwenhuis and Sgt. Moeke, were killed.
