13 April 1961 Hunter

During a night interception flight on 13 april 1961, a Dutch Hunter FMk6 from 326 Sqn (with serial N-260) collided with a F-102A from the 32nd TFS. The accident happened not far from the city of Westkappele in Zeeland. The F-102A with pilot Captain Lerner in the cockpit, landed safely with a damaged left wing. The Hunter crashed in the sea. A few hours later parts of the Hunter were found by Dutch Navy vessels. The pilot of the Hunter, Lt. Gaag, was killed unfortunately.
