11 April 1956 – Meteor

On 11 April 1956 a Gloster Meteor T.Mk.7 with serial I-3 crashed on three houses at the Stationstraat in the city of Woudenberg.

One of the houses was in use as an office. It was abanded at the time of the crash. The house was totally destroyed. The villa next to the office was also destroyed. A house at the other side of the road also caught fire and was destroyed to the utmost extent. The family which was at home at the time of the crash was unhurt.

The pilot, W. Oudhoff, used his ejection seat, and escaped without pfysical injuries but with a shock.
